Are you a grandparent raising your grandchild? You are not alone. Our support group has been meeting twice a month since February 2023. Now, we are enhancing the program to include a FREE DINNER for the family at 5:30 PM, and following dinner, from 6 to 7:30PM, we will have both an adult support group for grandparents, AND a children's fun playtime with games and guided activities/or FREE childcare for kids birth through kindergarten.
We are expanding our programming because Grandfamilies are an awesome asset in our community, and we want to help you to thrive! As you read further on this webpage, you will meet our facilitators; Pastor Ann Marie is now the administrator of the programs, responsible for overseeing every aspect, and answering all your questions. Antionette is a new facilitator who brings a wealth of experience raising grandchildren, and she has many talents. As you look over our past events for the grandchildren, you will see that we provide fun and engaging activities through the efforts of several adult volunteers who are experienced with kids, each in their own area. Karinne (a special education teacher), Kailee (an art instructor), Imani (a psychology student), and Gina (a mom who was raised by her grandparents), are among the regular leaders. We also have over a dozen adult volunteers who help in every respect. If you are a grandparent raising your grandchild, come try us out, and you will find friends here to offer a listening ear and lots of support for you and your grandkids. Feel free to reach out to Ann Marie (330) 469-6296 or Antionette (717) 379-3428 with any questions, and to let us know if you'll be attending supper, and/or needing care for your kids. We have certified caregivers.
